YOUR FIRST VISIT

Your first visit can range from a consultation to your actual surgical procedure. Please bring all necessary clinical information including xrays and referral cards given to you by your dentist or your phsyician. Also, all minors need to be accompanied by their legal gaurdian. If you are contemplating general anesthesia, be sure to fast for 8 hours prior and review the Pre-Op instructions on this website.

 

Pre-Operative Instructions for Sedation or General Anaesthesia

 

Steps to follow before your surgery:

  • Do not eat or drink anything eight hours prior to surgery.

  • Please remove any nail polish.

  • You will not be able to drive or operate heavy machinery for 24 hours.

  • Please wear clothing with short sleeves.

  • Please wear glasses or remove contacts beforehand.

  • Bring a list of your current medications.

  • Take any prescribed medication on schedule with small sips of water or as instructed by your treating surgeon.

  • Do not take narcotic pain medication before surgery.

  • Do not plan any strenuous activities for up to 48 to 72 hours.

  • Arrange for an adult to escort you to and from your appointment. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

  • If rescheduling your appointment is necessary, 48 hours notice is required or a fee may be charged for the time reserved.
